Our overseas mission;

 Mother's Heart Orphanage in Tshikapa, Congo

The orphanage

Location

 The orphanage is in Tshikapa - 60 km north of the Angolan border and we also sponsor orphans in Kinshasa .

The 'mission'

There are 40 children; About 15 are school age up to year 9 and the rest are under school age including several sets of twin babies.

The young ones are mostly orphaned due to the mothers dying in child birth. The ladies at the orphanage have become well known, so when a mother dies in child birth and the family do not come to collect the baby after the funeral the hospital contacts the orphanage.

The older kids have various stories, some the result of war where either they became separated from the parents or the families are caught up geographically in a war zone and the parents were killed.

The orphanage was formed by a group of ladies from the region that saw a need and have been funding it from their own personal pockets. They also try to help support up to 75 widows and their children.

The lady who formed the group and heads it up was a widow of 7 children herself and knows the struggles personally trying to raise a family alone. Her children are now grown so she has donated the family home for the orphanage to start in. They have raised enough funds to buy another price of land for building a bigger facility plus a medical centre to help bring in the funds to run it and grow their food but that's a medium to long term goal.

So they house, feed and clothe the children. They pay the school fees, books and uniforms as well as pay for any medical treatment. The ladies do what they can plus look to God for the rest.

Senior Pastors Samuel and Melissa visited/lived in Congo;

August 2021 - June 2022

"We were so touched; we said we would help in any way we can and have started to raise funds, collect clothing etc to help them. Any assistance anybody wishes to offer will go directly to the orphanage."

                 Jan 27, 2022    - Senior Pastor Melissa Tshisekedi
